The first Test of the series has ended in just over three days. Since their famous win at Mount Maunganui, Bangladesh have suffered five heavy defeats in six Tests. Can they bounce back in St Lucia? The Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium hasn't been a happy hunting ground for the hosts. Out of the nine Tests, West Indies have won only one. But the sole victory came against Bangladesh and their confidence will be sky high after this win. Until the second Test, which commences on Friday, it's goodbye from Abhinand Raghavendran and Srivathsa.

Kraigg Brathwaite | West Indies captain: As a group, we batted over 100 overs. Would have liked more runs but it was a good effort. The coaching staff is doing a very good job, Roach is leading from the front on and off the field. The lines and lengths we bowled - it was superb and that set the tone. He (Roach) is everything. He batted against England with an injured finger. He's a champion. That attitude is amazing. He adds a lot of value to the team. As a group, we are looking forward to the challenge. Kudos, their bowlers were disciplined and they challenged us. We got to come with full mind for the last Test match. Very pleasing to see that fifty (from Campbell). Bonner's doing a good job, he got a hundred against England. Full confidence on him (Reifer), not the best start, but Test cricket is never easy.

Shakib Al Hasan | Bangladesh captain: (The toss) Played a significant part, but we can't complain. If we could have applied ourselves better, it would have been ideal. The wicket was pretty good after that. That one session killed the game for us. Happy with the way the bowlers performed. (Batting failures) Not acceptable, we have been doing that quite regularly in the Tests. Batsmen need to find ways to score runs. That's a simple equation that we need to work on. (On the partnership with Nurul) A lot to be gained from that, Nurul was under pressure, the way he applied himself showed a lot of character. Some of the other batters can take the same approach and play good cricket in the next game. All our bowlers bowled their hearts out. Batting let us down and hopefully we come back well in the next game. I was positive in my batting, I kept it simple and that's how I was successful.

Kemar Roach | Player of the Match: The kids messaged me last night, congratulated me. Glad to make the fans happy. (On being level with Michael Holding - 249 Test wickets) It's a great feeling, I am a person of stats. To be up there with the legends, puts me in the bracket as well. We had to be patient. The pitch played better and the ball got softer. We did well the second new ball, the supporting guys were fantastic. It's a good performance because we won the game as well, definitely in the top five.

Chasing 84, West Indies lost three wickets inside four overs with Khaled Ahmed picking all the wickets. The tension was palpable in the hosts' camp towards the end of day's play on Saturday. But opener John Campbell and vice-captain Blackwood ensured no further setbacks till stumps and erased out more than 50% of the target. With just 35 runs needed today, the overnight batters completed the formalities inside 30 minutes without any hiccups. Campbell notched up his third Test fifty in the process and this knock should do his confidence a world of good. Stay tuned for the presentations..

10:27 Local Time, 14:27 GMT, 19:57 IST: A comprehensive win for West Indies who take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series. On a pace-friendly track, the hosts opted to bowl and skittled out their opponents for 103 inside one-and-a-half sessions. Six Bangladeshi batters failed to get off the mark and only three managed to get into double digits. In reply, the hosts secured a 162-run lead on the back of two half-century partnerships. The Bangladeshi bowlers, despite the lack of support from their fielders, bowled with a lot of heart and removed the last seven WI wickets for just 68 runs. In the second essay, most of the top-order Bangladesh batters perished chasing wide deliveries and at 109/6, they were staring down the barrel. An innings defeat was very much on the cards. That's when Shakib and Nurul Hasan joined hands and stitched a century partnership to take their team into the lead. While the former notched up his second fifty of this Test, the latter recorded his second Test fifty. Kemar Roach, the hosts' spearhead, removed both the set batters with the second new ball and ended up with his tenth Test fifer.
