Rohit Sharma is given the trophy and he quickly hands it over to the juniors in the side. The Indian team then pose for the photographs with the silverware. A clinical series win for the hosts and they will hope to keep the momentum going with the upcoming ODI assignments as well. Quite a few boxes are being ticked while many still remain. Rohit and co will want to sort things out with the World Cup around the corner. As for SL, they tried their best but were outclassed by a more strong outfit. That's a wrap to our coverage of this series. Until next time, this is Hari signing off on behalf of Saurabh and Praveen. Cheers!

Rohit Sharma | India captain: It was a great series for us. Lots of positives. We bowled well, got wickets when we needed and the batters throughout the series piling on the runs was good to watch. Good to see how he (Siraj) was bowling and he deserved all those slips. He is a rare talent, the way he has come up over the last few years is good to see. He has come from strength to strength and that's really good for Indian cricket. We tried all sort of things (to get his fifer) but it didn't happen unfortunately. But the four wickets are all his and fifers will come. He has a few tricks up his sleeves which he is working on and it's there to see. We'll get to the drawing board quickly (for the next series) and see how the pitch is, then decide how the combinations will be. They (NZ) are coming off a series win in Pakistan, so it won't be an easy task at all.

Virat Kohli | Player of the Match | Player of the Series: I have no idea (about the MoS awards he has won). For me, it's just a byproduct of the intent I have, mindset that I play with. Mindset is always to help the team win, bat for as long as possible and if you do that, you end up making a difference. I have always played for the right reasons, help the team as much as possible. It is just intent, playing for the right reasons. Ever since I came back from the long break, I have been feeling good. I don't have that desperation to get to a milestone. I am just enjoying my batting, being in a space where I can relax. Today as well, I was just happy to be out there batting. I am in a nice space right now and want this to continue. Shami has always been there for us but the way Siraj has come up has been outstanding. He has taken the maximum number of wickets in the powerplay, which was an issue for us early. He is always making the batters think, which is a great sign for us going into the World Cup.

Dasun Shanaka | Sri Lanka captain: It's disappointing. Not the game we would have wanted but it happens sometimes. Bowlers and batters both need to learn. How to pick wickets on these pitches and how to score runs. No idea about that (on the updates about Bandara and Vandersay). Playing positive cricket is the key. If the boys showed intent, bowling will be different. While playing international cricket, we need to play with intent. I would like to congratulate Indian team for playing this level of cricket.

Mohammed Siraj: I wanted to try and get my first fifer. Tried very hard, but you get only as much as you deserve. The outswing was coming out nicely, but the wicket-taking over was the scrambled seam. I just try to generate some doubt in the batter’s mind with those outswing deliveries. Captain tried hard to get me that fifer, but what can we do.

19:43 Local Time, 14:13 GMT, 19:43 IST: When you score close to 400 runs in an ODI, the game is mostly done and dusted there itself. Unless the pitch is a complete road (which this wasn't) or maybe if England are the chasing side. The result was a foregone conclusion but what was shocking was the meek surrender from the Lankan batters. Even if the target was improbable, they could have all tried to put up a fight but that was not to be. Siraj's new-ball burst killed off whatever minimal hopes the visitors may have had and the procession just never stopped at all. Only three batters got to double digits and just one partnership faced 20-plus deliveries out there. Sums up the second innings, doesn't it? India only had to use three specialist bowlers while Iyer bowled one solitary over as well. Siraj deserved a fifer, but fell agonizingly close. The one dismissal that kind of resembles Sri Lanka's mood today has to be that of Karunaratne's. Imagine playing a forward defence back to the bowler and then getting run out for not having your foot back in the crease. It's beyond silly. A clinical performance from India though. The centuries from Kohli and Gill set the hosts up, and there was no looking back thereafter.

21.6 Kuldeep Yadav to Kumara, out Bowled!! Kuldeep ends the resistance!! India sweep the series 3-0 with a monstrous win! After hanging around for a while, Kumara runs out of patience, which is only expected for a tailender like him. Has a go at this, misses and this deflects off the pads onto the stumps. Bandara won't come out to bat, so the innings has officially ended. Kumara b Kuldeep Yadav 9(19) [4s-2]

20.6 Siraj to Rajitha, no run, good review and Rajitha denies Siraj a fifer! It's that full and fast inswinger to sign off the day from Siraj, raps the batter on the back pad and it looked close in latest. The only question was if there was an inside edge or not. The ump had a long time to think about it and then raised his finger. Rajitha though, went up straightaway for the review, and UltraEdge does show a spike

Rajitha has been given out LBW. He decides to review. Is this Siraj's moment? Looked quite close in latest and only an inside edge can save the batter. Rajitha almost went up straightaway but tailenders aren't generally good judges of this, are they? 'Oh, but I am' says Rajitha because UltraEdge does show a spike. Good review.
