CSK are still favourites to make it to the playoffs which would mean Dhoni will probably be back here at least one more time. But wow, those were some incredible scenes as Dhoni and the entire CSK unit took a lap around the ground to thank the fans. On that note, we wrap up our coverage. This is Sagar Chawla signing off on behalf of Harish, MS Ramakrishnan and Saurabh Shankar!

Third loss for CSK at home, and the most comprehensive one as KKR's attack found the conditions to their liking, and then Rana and Rinku put on a clinic against spin. From here, CSK go to Delhi for their final league match. At the moment the players are doing a lap around the ground to thank the crowd. Everyone wants a glimpse of Dhoni, and even Sunil Gavaskar runs up to him for an autograph. Dhoni has a racquet in hand and is hitting some tennis balls into the crowd. He now moves on to tossing some jerseys for the fans. Don't think many have left the stadium. No one knows how long Dhoni will be around for. This sure is a very emotional gesture from both parties. Rahane also has a placard in his hands with a message for the fans. Cameramen, groundstaff, they're lining up in front of Dhoni to get their shirts signed. There are announcements being made around the ground. Now it's the turn of policemen who are deployed at the venue to shake hands with Dhoni and get his autographs. What scenes out there! Finally Dhoni waves to the crowd and disappears into the pavilion.

Rinku Singh, Player of the Match: Lost some wickets early. When I went in, Nitish bhaiyya said it's a tough wicket. Will knock it around for singles and capitalise on loose balls. I bat in the same position in domestic cricket, play the same way. I eat well, have always had the power. A lot of hard work behind it.

Rana: Said at the toss that if all 3 departments do well, our chances are good. Have to give credit to Chandu sir (coach Chandrakant Pandit) for this - I wasn't in favour of taking heavy roller but he insisted to go for it. I feared pitch might break up. But that didn't happen and ball didn't turn much. Every team has home advantage except KKR.

Plenty of Dhoni fans out there, and Rinku Singh is one of them. He is getting some signed memorabilia from the CSK captain.

Sunil Narine: (On his performance today) Probably the pitch helped, was just trying to use the conditions as best I could. (On why he’s struggled at times this season)The pitches are good, and with the extra player coming in the batters have more leeway, but we need to plan accordingly to counter that. You can plan and you can innovate, but sometimes it is just about keeping it as simple as possible and enjoying your wicket.

Dhoni (2/2): (Of what has been told to Shivam Dube this season) Well we have spoken a lot, it should remain in the dressing room what we spoke to him. What are the areas he needs to work on. Very happy with the way he has done and it's important for him to keep continuing game after game and not get satisfied with what he has done. He has done that job for us in the middle overs to get us as many runs as possible. So I just wish him that he keeps continuing. (On Deepak Chahar) He is somebody who swings the ball and has a fair idea of the game, where to keep the fielders and he bowls accordingly. He is definitely an asset. At times... I feel now he is very experienced to realize at times that if it is not swinging what is the length to bowl. Because in games where you don't have too many runs on the board, you have to get slightly smart.. once you know it's not swinging (for him), it will not swing for anyone.

MS Dhoni | CSK captain (1/2): One of those days when you win the toss and bat first and the moment the first ball was bowled in the second innings, you realise it is a 180 wicket. Batting first I don't think we could have got anywhere close to 180. I think the dew made a big difference. If you compare the first innings to the second innings, there was a lot more purchase for the spinners in the first innings and that's what really got to us. (Can't blame anyone for the loss) Yes, I think so. Whenever there is no certainty about dew that is when the decision (at the toss) becomes slightly tricky. And as I said, you win the toss and you bowl first and you realize there is no dew in the second innings, chasing 150 against their spinners could have been tough too. So we can't really blame any batter or bowler for this loss. They tried their best, but the conditions had a big impact on the game.

23:10 Local Time, 17:40 GMT, 23:10 IST: The ease of this run-chase has been extraordinary from KKR! You could argue that CSK were short of a par score, but you don't see their spinners being dominated in that fashion too often at Chepauk! Speaks volumes of how good Rinku Singh and Nitish Rana were. Dhoni is saying dew made a big difference in his post-match interview which would've helped the duo. But after getting together at 33/3 with the team in trouble, they batted brilliantly as well for the highest fourth-wicket partnership at Chepauk in IPL history. The run chase started turbulently for the visitors as Deepak Chahar rocked them with a three-fer early on. His variations and some smart field placements got rid of Gurbaz, Venky Iyer and Jason Roy. They were struggling at 46/3 after the powerplay, with potentially 12 overs of spin to follow on a sluggish pitch, and things didn't look too good. But Rinku started positively and Rana also turned it around after spending some time in the middle. And they made it look so easy out there.

18.3 Tushar Deshpande to Nitish Rana, FOUR, full and wide, Rana goes hard on the drive and it flies away off the edge to the third man boundary. KKR are still alive in this tournament, and CSK might still have some work to do to get that Q next to their name!
